Tia Mowry on summer cookout plans, new film, and more
"I love partnering with brands that genuinely fit into my real life, and Bounty definitely does – it's honestly my little sidekick at home," Mowry explains. "From kitchen spills to full‑blown cookout messes, it's always there doing the heavy lifting so I can keep it moving and enjoy the moment. It's one of those things you don't think about until you really need it, and then you're very grateful it's there."
Mowry has two children — a son named Cree and a daughter named Cairo — whom she shares with her ex-husband, Cory Hardict. The Sister, Sister actress shared that Bounty has been her sidekick in the kitchen when her children might be getting too excited for her delicious meals.
The Cookout Complications & Traditions
"Any time kids and food are involved, something is bound to go left," the actress said. "I've had everything from juice spills to sauce splatters mid‑cookout, and every time I'm like, this is exactly why Bounty stays on standby. One wipe and it's back to fun. No stress, no drama!"
Mowry shared with Essence that her honey barbecue wings, and her father's short ribs always make the bill when it comes to having family time at a cookout. To add to the fun, a cookout is not complete for the Mowry household without some card games, line-dancing, and music to set the mood for the party.
The Latest Film & Entrepreneurship
While fans might not get an invite to the cookout to experience Mowry's famous honey barbeque wings, they will be able to see the actress in her latest film.
"I just finished shooting a Lifetime movie called Single Black Tenant which comes out June 27, and I'm really excited about that," Mowry shared.
The Lifetime film stars Mowry but she is also the executive producer of the project. It "follows Esme (Mowry), a woman who finally finds an affordable Cleveland apartment, only to suspect her eccentric landlord and her boyfriend are hiding a deadly secret. When Esme uncovers blood and disturbing clues, she realizes the landlord may be setting her up as a scapegoat."
The film is part of the network's Ripped From The Headlines series.
On top of making sure her that her cookouts are set up for the summer, she is expanding her haircare line, 4U by Tia, which just launched a kids line and teased "even more exciting things with the brand, and there are definitely a few other fun projects in the works that I can't wait to share soon."
