Skin is extremely important for good health because it protects the rest of your body from germs and infectious agents.

Certain foods have powerful ingredients that keep skin looking flawless and feeling smooth and help fight age-related damage.

Skincare and anti-aging products are huge industries, but taking care of your skin has just as much to do with how you treat your body and what you put into it as it does what you put on it. Vitamin A helps keep your skin fresh and glowing by preventing dryness, reducing dark spots, and smoothing wrinkles. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that fights the damage done by free radicals. Foods rich in Vitamin C include peppers, citrus fruits, dark green vegetables, papaya, and kiwi.

Causes for Skin Damage:

Below are some reasons for dry skin.

1. Sun damage:

While we all love a little fun in the sun! But then when you look at yourself in the mirror, your face falls. Literally. The damage your skin has suffered due to exposure to UV rays is apparent. You can't avoid the sun but you can use sun protection.

2. Lack of hydration:

In the same way you need to hydrate to avoid feeling the sensation of an extremely dry throat, it is essential to hydrate to keep away the dry and stretchy feeling from your skin. The skin cells are also made of water and need to be replenished for the skin to stay hydrated. Drinking a lot of water is the only way to go about this because water is claimed to be the best substance for the skin.

3. Bad eating habits:

The skin needs different nutrients and those fast-food restaurants you love are not where you will find it! Feed your skin the right food and it will respond with that lovely glow you want.

4. Smoking:

Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide, which displaces the oxygen in your skin, and nicotine, which reduces blood flow, leaving skin dry and discolored. Cigarette smoking also depletes many nutrients, including vitamin C, which helps protect and repair skin damage.

Now that you know what you need to stop doing; here are tips for healthy skin.

Tip 1: Eat proper food to get healthy skin

Food provides life to your skin. Everything you eat in your everyday life contributes to healthy skin. Only that you have to cut out on some and add some more.

Tip 2: Exfoliate your body

The ground rule of basic skincare is to exfoliate your skin. Your body sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every minute of every day. If you don't get rid of them, they'll just set in on your skin making you look dull and dry. No matter how much lotion you use, you're never going to have glowing skin if you don't exfoliate. Grab a body scrub and hit the shower. Gently rub your exfoliator in circular movements on your entire body from the shoulders down (you'll want a facial exfoliator for your face and neck) and rinse clean. Continue to do this 2-3 times a week for year-round beautiful skin.

Tip 3: Use minimal make-up

Remember less make-up is best. Under the intolerant sun, natural looks are best. If you intend to use foundation then also apply face powder with SPF to avoid patchy skin. To protect your lips always use a gloss or a lip balm with an SPF of 15 to make your lips fresher. Eye makeup is something that should be very much avoided in summer.

Tip 4: Make water your best friend

At least 8 glasses of water are needed. If possible, carry a water bottle with you and remember to drink at least once every 30 min. Water not only helps you feel fresh, but it also prevents dehydration and will help wash out a lot of toxins.
